“The chains of habit are too light to be felt until they are too heavy to be broken.” In all aspects of life and sport, we have habits. Some habits serve us well, and some serve us not as well. The key is to make it a habit to do the things that will increase your chances of success. The following three habits will get you started on the right path.

  1. Have a positive mental attitude – by continuing to focus on the bright side of things, you will make it a habit to start to expect good things. So, in life, we have to INSPECT what we EXPECT. If we expect good things, then we can inspect those things and see if what they are bringing to us are actually what we want in life. This takes a constant positive mindset.
  2. Choose a good environment – make it a habit to put yourself in the right environment. The environment we are in is super important. There is a reason there is usually not much grass in a barren desert. Just like you would not expect a fish to thrive outside of water, to keep a natural year-round tan in Wisconsin, or to find a kitten hanging around a bunch of pit bulls, you must be aware of your environment, because it has an influence on your success. Make it a habit to pick environments in which you can thrive.
  3. Put in the work – make it a habit to sow good seeds. We reap what we sow. This is the way of the world; God made it that way. If you are saying “It’s not fair” or “It shouldn’t be this way,” then when you make and have your own world, you can do with it as you please. But as long as you are a part of this one, then this is the way it works. Make it a habit to always put in the proper work, and if need be, put in more than is necessary to get the results. “You must do today what others don’t to have tomorrow what others won’t!”

These are just three of many more habits I will be detailing that will help you on your journey. Make no mistake, life is a journey! Where you are now is not where you were years ago. Even if you are in the same physical place, you are not the same person. Change and develop your habits, and you will change and develop your life!
